THE REST WILL FOLLOW
What happens when two geniuses meet?
Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin were two extraordinary artists, revolutionary in their pictorial styles and linked by a deep and tormented friendship.
Both misunderstood by their contemporaries, they briefly found refuge together in the Yellow House in Arles, Provence. Their shared time profoundly influenced their artistic production, forever changing the very history of painting. Their opposing personalities, however, transformed this coexistence into a veritable hell.
Between shared visions and opposing perspectives, secrets and confessions, disquisitions on art, religion, and women, everyone tried to escape alive from that hell.
But is getting out of it really what they tried to do?
"What I see people progressively lacking is passion for something, for someone. In my opinion, passion is the essential fuel for our engine. Without it, we slowly die out.
You die. The show about the friendship between Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin is part of the Dionysus Art Project, which, through the study and portrayal of the lives of these great artists, aims to rekindle that flame.
I would like everyone to fight with great passion for what they believe in. Just like he did.
Vincent van Gogh, for example."
